Fly Casting Class

IFFF Master Certified Instructors Jim Wigington and Guy Manning will be presenting Basic Fly Casting classes beginning on May 3, 2016. This series of classes will run on 5 Tuesdays for 2 hours each class: May 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31. Classes begin at 6 PM and run until about 8 PM each evening. They will be held on the lawn just south of the Redding Convention Center and across from Channel 7 in the Turtle Bay Area.

The classes will cost $35 per person for the whole series of 5 classes payable in cash or check at the first session. Bring eye protection, a rod with a matching reel and floating line. Add a 9 foot leader in 3X or 4X size and we will supply the fluff if needed (no hooks are allowed). Reservations are not needed, so just show up. Please show up at least 5 to 10 minutes early for each class to allow time to set up your gear. All classes will begin promptly at 6 PM.

Important: Since the instruction uses a step by step approach, with each step building on the next, please show up to each class. If you miss a class we will not be able to take time away from the other students to catch you up on what was missed during the previous class. This is of particular importance for the first 3 classes. Students will find it near impossible to proceed successfully if they miss a class.

2015 Casting Classes

SPEY CASTING ON THE RIVER

The third Sunday of each month, weather permitting, STFF Spey casters, and anyone interested in learning Spey Casting, meet at the Posse Grounds area near Turtle Bay from 9 AM to 12 noon.  Bring your rod or just show up and ask one of the casters to show you how it is done   (Note due to water/weather changes I will email any changes of location before the assigned date.  To be added/deleted from the lists send me an email at [email protected]).  From time to time we have a cooked lunch at the area after casting.
