Kids Camp

The Shasta Trinity Fly Fishers and their subgroup, the Shasta Mayflies, two local fly fishing clubs in Northern California are offering four Fish Camp Scholarships to interested youth from Shasta, Trinity, Tehama, and Siskiyou Counties. Each $750 award covers the entire cost of the 5-day program. Put on by The Fly Shop in Redding, this program includes accommodations, meals, and use of equipment. The camp teaches fly fishing and other outdoor skills in a safe, friendly environment. Kids Camp is held on a beautiful private ranch with a stocked free flowing stream, near Weed at the base of Mt. Shasta. Camps are scheduled from June 17 - 21, June 24 - 28, and July 8 - 12.

To apply for one of the six scholarships, interested youth from the ages of 10 and 15 who reside in one of the counties named above must complete the application form and attach two short essays answering the questions listed on the application form. Participants may also be asked to attend a meeting of one of the sponsoring fishing clubs to give a short presentation on their experience at camp.
