2013 Fly Tying Expo
Shasta Trinity Fly Fishers, Turtle Bay Museum and the NCCFFF are presenting a Fly Tying Expo on April 6 & 7, 2013 at the Turtle Bay Museum in Redding, CA. The Expo will feature Tyers from northern California and Oregon. There will be morning (10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) and afternoon (1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.) tying sessions on Saturday and Sunday. There will also be Special Programs and hands-on activities including fly tying and a casting area. To volunteer as a demonstration fly tyer contact Stew Stewart at rlstewart@frontiernet.net . The Turtle Bay Museum and Exploration Park will also be offering the following exhibits concurrent with the Fly Tying Expo; Tiny Footprints: Insect Art by Pamela Cole, West Coast Biennial: Juried Art Exhibition, Famous Artist Portfolio Art Show: Contemporary Color and Shape, Nano: The Science of Small, Gowns to Gold Pans: Fifty Years of Collecting Redding’s Art & History. Exhibition will continue through May and June.
Fly Tyers do you want to improve you fly tying techniques or learn how to tie the most popular patterns? If so, then let us know if you are interested in attending STFFs New Fly Tying Roundtables.
New and inexperienced fly tyers are welcome. All tools and materials will be supplied and there is no cost for attending these sessions. These will be informal session scheduled twice a month for 3 hours, on Thursday evenings and/or Saturday mornings starting in May. Each session will use fly tying instruction videos as the participants tie flies using materials from the STFF inventory If you are interested in attending the roundtables, please send an email to Dick Recchia .
